The roots of quality furniture manufacturer Thöni are to be found in idyllic Prad am Stilfserjoch. Over 70 years ago, Ernst Thöni set up his village carpenter's shop, which some 20 years later, around 1970, was taken over by the current CEO Josef Thöni. With the acquisition of the business one thing above all changed: the new focus was on making seating products in conjunction with a complete furniture range.

Since 1989 the emphasis has been in particular on the production of chairs, made in the new production shop by the best craftsmen using the latest technology. Josef Thöni and his son Iwan are constantly striving to make new approaches and ideas a reality. The full range of chairs, bar stools, tables and benches bespeaks the history and dynamics of a family business which recognizes the needs of the future and meets the very highest quality standards.

Tradition

When history becomes tradition, an occupation becomes a passion and craftsmanship becomes art, the beginning of Thöni's company history is told. It all started in Prad am Stilfser Joch in 1950. Deeply influenced by the land and people, and inspired by natural materials, the company established itself in the Alpine market with its typical farmhouse chairs.

In response to the changing times, the structures and visions of this family business grew steadily into a successful future. A South Tyrolean carpenter's shop has become a quality operation which knows how to uphold, to live and to redefine tradition. The Thöni company can present itself today as an internationally recognized manufacturer of chairs which is directly linked to values such as quality, reliability and tradition and which will so remain.

"Today's design is tomorrow's culture."

Pure beauty of form, perfection of lines and proportions, and elegance of the design are characteristic of the style of Juen and Thöni. The model variants range from an exclusive noblesse via expressive classics to proud representatives of lived tradition. The designer of these stylistic beauties in wood is the Tyrolean Georg Juen, who contrives perceptibly skilful compositions of form, material and colour. Seating furniture is thus created which gives an unparalleled touch to your living spaces. Thöni's awareness of tradition could hardly be better complemented than by this striking conviction of the designer, Georg Juen. The art which Juen outstandingly masters is that of bringing heritage along into the future, integrating its elements while at the same time staging them anew. His hand sets the tone in line and stylistic confidence, and completes the quality spectrum of the Thöni company.

Wood as one of probably the most fascinating raw materials makes for an excellent room ambience and conveys a feeling of well-being. The diverse possibilities of combination with other materials and the abundance of wood species are also reflected in the design and at Thöni transformed into wonderful pieces of furniture. The majority of all chairs, tables, benches and bar stools in the Thöni range are made of wood. Fine domestic hardwoods and wood from controlled cultivation in other regions of the world ensure the best quality of this natural raw material.
